Project nomination must be completed and submitted by 12 pm December 15, 2023. Each project submitted may only be submitted into one (1) Building Award Category.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Building Awards will recognize construction projects completed between July 1st, 2022, and August 31st, 2023<\/strong>. The Building Awards allow all parties who participate in construction to receive recognition of excellence on the project.<\/p>\n

SICA members may nominate themselves. Reference letters may be requested from finalists. A panel of judges will review each of the nominated projects.<\/p>\n

The projects will be judged on a number of criteria, specifically in the areas of Appearance, Function, and Project Performance.<\/p>\n

All nominations for the Building Awards must include a completed form based on the seven (7) criteria points below. This document will be integral in evaluating the merits of the project entry.[\/vc_column_text][vc_text_separator title=”CRITERIA”][vc_column_text](1) Financial Performance<\/strong>
\nSufficient information should be provided to the judges to evaluate the budget performance of the project, including if profit objectives were met. Please also include the bidding method that was used to secure the contract.<\/p>\n

(2) Schedule Met<\/strong>
\nInformation must be provided to show the project\u2019s schedule data and the actual performance relative to the agreed schedule.<\/p>\n

(3) Value Engineering & Innovations<\/strong>
\nProvide details on any special tools such as BIM or other that were used during the bidding process. Provide information on any specific innovations or improvements through value engineering that provided a financial benefit to
\nthe owner or improvements to schedule.<\/p>\n

(4) Challenges & Resolutions<\/strong>
\nOutline any unexpected hurdles that you overcame and how they were resolved<\/p>\n

(5) Safety Record<\/strong>
\nPlease include your project\u2019s safety practices and records, including lost time
\naccidents (if applicable).<\/p>\n

(6) Site Co-Operation<\/strong>
\nCommunications and co-operation between stakeholders on this project.<\/p>\n

(7) Material Management<\/strong>
